Abstract: The aerospace industry deals from the beginning with structures with special requirements as extreme lightweight and withstanding to a big number of load cases. Aerodynamics constraints lead to supplementary restrictions, the results being the complex shape to sustain the fuselage, the rotor blades or the wings skin. The first aim of this paper is to highlight the importance of the introduction of Structural Health Monitoring systems in the applications from the aerospace area. For this purpose, a structural static analysis of a helicopter blade, using the finite elements method was performed. There were obtained the stresses and deformations maps that are very useful for the designing and the construction of the aircrafts structures.
