ISTORIA TEHNICII - COMPONENTĂ A CULTURII ROMÂNE

Rezumat: Subiectul articolului este naşterea şi dezvoltarea celei mai recente ramuri a Istoriei – Istoria tehnicii, punându-se în evidenţă, atunci când se poate şi este cazul, atât situaţia acestei discipline în România, cât şi contribuţia românilor la dezvoltarea ei. Istoria tehnicii a jucat un rol esenţial în domeniul educaţiei şi formării, al dezvoltării spiritul inventiv şi inovator, al prezervării memoriei şi, nu în ultimul rând, în previziunea tehnologică. Disciplina Istoria tehnicii este o componentă importantă a demersului prospectiv, atât de necesar într-o lume în schimbare accelerată, obligată să definească soluţii cu implicaţii de importanţă capitală pentru viitorul omenirii.

Abstract: The subject of the article is the birth and development of the most recent branch of History - the History of technology, highlighting, when appropriate and possible, both its situation in Romania and the contribution of Romanians to its development. The History of technology played an essential role in the field of education and training, in the development of the inventive and innovative spirit, in the preservation of memory and, last but not least, in the technological foresight. The History of technology is an important component of the prospective approach, which is so necessary in a rapidly-changing world, bound to define solutions with major implications for the future of mankind.
