Rezumat
Lucrarea prezinta constructia si simularea functionarii unui motor asincron de 630 kW a carui proiectare a luat

Abstract
The paper presents design and simulation of a high-power induction motor of 630 kW which has to fulfill some
severe start-up constraints, that is a low starting current (Is/Ir1). The
proposed solution uses two distinct rotor cages made of copper and conductive iron respectively. Additionally, the copper
cage has a particular construction of the bars both inside the slots and at their extremities. The simulation of the operation
uses a software package based on finite element method.
