Abstract

In the present paper we analyzed the behavior of tensile testing for seven sewing threads. The threads are 100% polyester, but structurally different. The analyzed threads are made of polyester fibers, textured/intermingled polyester filaments and polyester filament yarns respectively; the fineness of the thread variants is also variable. Indicators for the appreciation of the tensile behavior of sewing threads are breaking strength, elongation at break, force - elongation curve. The analysis of the behavior of these sewing threads is important, because in order to deal with different stresses during sewing, a thread must have the appropriate strength and elongation.
