Abstract

In this paper there will be presented the necessity of implementing the flue gas cleaning facility
inside CET SUD Timi?oara. The chosen cleaning technology in SNCR (Selective NonCatalytic Reduction). There will
be presented some arguments which led to chosing this solution instead of the SCR solution (Selective Catalyctic
Reduction). Also there will be presented in short the components of this type of installation and the working
principle. In this type of installation it is very important to determine the reduction agent injection area, the
optimum field of temperature of this area being between 870°C and 1080°C. Over this range, the ammonia is
oxidized and in this way more nitrogen oxide is produced, while under this range the conversion rate is too low
and ammonia is sent into the atmosphere. In this way a steam generator which is equipped with the SNCR
system has to have more injection areas, independent of the load for the reaction to take place
