EXTERNAL ROTOR SHAPE ESTIMATION OF AN INDUCTION MOTOR BY FEM ANALYSIS

Rezumat: Optimizarea unui motor electric pentru a fi utilizat intr-o alta aplicatie decat pentru cea care a fost initial proiectat, implica cunoasterea in totalitate a structurii circuitului electric cat si magnetic. Aceasta lucrare prezinta o analiza comparativa a formei crestaturilor rotorice in constructia unui motor asincron cu rotor exterior, utilizand metoda elementului finit. Avand la baza un model experimental al carui caracteristica mecanica este cunoscuta, prin studiu de camp s-a ajuns la o forma optima a crestaturii din punct de vedere al performantelor de functionare a masinii.

Abstract: An electric motor optimization for use in others applications, than the one for which it was initially designed, involves totally knowledge of electric circuit and magnetic structure. This paper presents a comparative analysis of rotor slots shape in case of an external rotor induction motor, using FEM based simulation. Based on an experimental model which mechanical characteristics are known, field study is used to estimate the rotor geometry.
