MANAGEMENTUL SINCOPEI HIPOTERMICE LA OPERATORII DE SONDĂ ÎN PUNCTE FIXE DE MONITORIZARE. STUDIU DE CAZ

Autor/autori: Prof. asoc. dr. ing. dipl. Valentin-Paul TUDORACHE

Abstract: Oil and natural gas well drilling activity exposes operators to extreme environmental conditions, where thermal stress is an often-underestimated risk, particularly at static monitoring stations. While attention is focused on equipment safety, the operator's physiological balance is critical for preventing human error. This study stems from a real-life incident, analyzing the mechanisms by which peripheral vasoconstriction (starting from the fingers) can rapidly evolve into severe hypothermic syncope, drastically affecting hemodynamic parameters. The importance of the sequence of hydration administration (water and sugar), the risks of diaphoresis (cold sweating) in isolated industrial settings, and the necessity of extremity protective equipment to prevent circulatory collapse are discussed. The findings provide recommendations for the ergonomic optimization of workstations and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) protocols specific to the oil and natural gas sector.
