Rezumat
Un nou material pe bază de lemn de salcâm a fost conceput și experimentat pentr u identificarea caracteristicilor sale fizico termice si mecanice. Spre deosebire de ma terialele poroase din lemn încercate anterior, autorii au selectat lemnul de salcâm reciclat din rumeguș din prelucrarea acestuia. Un surfactant adecvat (laurisulfatul de sodiu) și apă distilată, împreună cu lemnul măcinat au permis obținerea unei suspensii, care a fost spumată prin agitare și uscată la 75 ℃. Din punct de vedere fizico termic, proprietățile noului produs
au fost excelente, aproape similare cu cele ale altor spume de lemn, rezistența fiind redusă, dar acceptabilă.

Abstract
A new material based on acacia wood was designed and tested to identify its physico thermal and mechanical features. Unlike previously tested porous wood materials, the auth ors selected acacia wood recycled from sawdust. An adequate surfactant (sodium lauryl sulfate) and distilled water, together with the
ground wood, allowed to obtain a suspension, foamed by stirring and dried at 75 ℃. In physico thermal terms, the new product properties were excellent, almost similar to those of other wood foams, the strength being low, but acceptable.
